SIR WILLIAM DUGDALE'S ANTIQUITIES OF WARWICKSHIRE takes the above line of Burley's to the time of Edward II, 1307-1326. M.T.Smith 121 <../PS_SRC.htm>on pg. 928 states, "There is no doubt that the Burleys of Shropshire, or Salop, are from this original line, as there are no other Burleys listed in the records. The next references start at the time of the coronation of Richard II, 1379, and as Shropshire is near Warwickshire, it must be that there may be two generations between these two references, but as we cannot show the exact relationship between the last Hugh de Burley (above), and this John de Burley, we shall start with this John" as the earliest ancestor in this line in which we can see definite father to son relationships.121 <../PS_SRC.htm>p. 928 He was made Knight of the Garter at the coronation of Richard II in 1377. He was witness to the will of Edward III, who was grandfather of King Richard I. (Edw. III was son of Edw.
